Got this book from the annual big book sale at the Blossom Athletic Center here in San Antonio. I am placing it on Mount TBR.

This book was always a favorite. I read it to my kids when they were young. It's a story about a lion who was very skinny. So skinny that you could count his ribs. He was skinny because he constantly had to chase his prey.

All the animals got together and appointed the rabbit to talk to the lion to keep him busy so the lion would not chase them. That rabbit took the lion home where his brothers and sisters were fixing carrot stew. They fed the lion who got fatter and had no need to chase the other animals anymore.

This is a book to be read to young children. The pictures coincide with the story. The print is small so older readers would be able to read it but probably would not be interested in the story.
