I got this softcover from a "you might also like..." pointer online; sounds like an entertaining mix of weird fiction, and has a beautifully grisly cover!
Later: Entertaining collection, with some hints of Lovecraftian influence here and there. Among my favorites:
"The Dogs," in which a man explores possible futures as lethal Outsiders menace Earth - this one has some unusual twists and a poignant tone.
"The Prosthesis" features the construction of prosthetics - replacements for missing limbs, yes, but also for lost infants (!).
"The Spectators" is about beings who start to show up in people's homes, businesses, anywhere - just to stand there and watch them. Kind of a bleak take on the "everything's on social media" mindset, The story takes a heart-wrenching twist, but is it just the narrator's interpretation or did the Spectators have other agendas?
"Sunset in Megalopolis" is an arch look at superheroes (or supervillains, depending on your perspective).
"Those Above" is set in an alternate reality where people harvest the bodies of immense beings that wash up on shore - and where the bounty must be repaid...
"The Individual in Question" is a creepy little vignette about... some kind of mind-bending and body-warping event - lots of punch for a page and a half!
The title story, "The Endless Fall," is perhaps my favorite - a lost astronaut finds himself on a world with unimaginable threats. Nicely chilling.
