I found this story of a world that goes blind to be depressing, The author tried to show us the world of darkness but it became to violent and sad to be something I could enjoy,

I first tried to read this book when I got it in 2017, but I struggled with the writing style, and gave up after about 30 pages.
I picked it up on Thursday 26th to give it another go.
I pushed on past where I got stuck before, and boy am I glad I did.
What a book! I finished it Monday 30th. It's well worth reading.
I agree the subject matter certainly is dark. It puts the nastiest pieces of human behaviour on display. But it also includes kindness and decency amongst it.
I wanted to read this book as I had seen the film. The film is a solid adaptation.
