Note that this book is called Love, Simon, because it appears to have been reissued with the same title as the film. From what I can find online this appears to be the same book as Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda, though confusingly that's listed as 'original novel' on the cover implying a different novel by the author rather than 'original title'.
The favourite line given is "People really are like houses with vast rooms and tiny windows. And maybe it's a good thing, the way we never stop surprising each other."

Simon is gay, but he isn't out yet except to his mysterious penfriend Blue. But then dorky Martin reads his emails, and tries to blackmail him. I liked the emails but some of the other parts are a bit cringy. Teenage drama a bit of added mystery - who is Blue? Will Simon ever get to meet him and will they even like each other if they meet? Makes you think about what even people with accepting parents must go through to come out, and how important it is to have that choice.

This book had a rough journey but it finally reached my mom's home in Latvia. It is my first package that got stuck at the customs due to the new EU regulations and generally hell knows where it was so long. I am not in Latvia anymore, so it will wait for me there when I visit next time (spring and summer 2022, most likely).
