The book is a teenager/high school novel. I found it interesting as it deals with a modern view of living as a almost teenager in a 'bad' neighborhood. All the ups and downs that go along with teen peer pressure and violence. It's for year 6 level of German. I read this book with all excitement and actually was not bored. I am an adult who is working on improving my German language skills. The story is interesting, not outlandish(in ideas or language) and very current so I did not have to force myself to read it. I would recommend it to a 12 year old.
