Very tragic story of Colonel Behran and Kathy Nicolo and the house that was so importnant to them both. I couldn't warm to Kathy, though, so the struggle was one-sided to me.
Behrani's downfall was his inability or refusal to communicate. What he seemed to other people to be doing was, at almost all times, not what he was really doing or intending.
But the real fly in the ointment was Lester - meddling in what was not his business and forcing the tragic conclusion.
The story hinges greatly on the characters and our knowledge of their thoughts. I'm interested in seeing the movie to see how this was conveyed.
