A Peruvian writer visiting Florence recollects the story of his Jewish friend Saul Zuratas, who has become "the storyteller" of the Machiguenga tribe of Amazonia.
A very clever book, but not easy to get into. There may be a reason as to why this is not one the better known Vargas Llosa novels.
