WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Downstairs bookcrossing meeting.
I claimed this hardcover at today's meetup. I'd read it some years back, via a Teen Books bookbox, where I chose it after I noticed the tiny Cupid on the cover and realized that the title refers to the sound of an arrow hitting its mark!
I enjoyed this book a lot - much more than I expected to when it started with a teenaged girl angsting over the guy she has a crush on {wry grin}. But while the story does indeed deal with "gotta-get-a-guy" urges, it makes some really fun side trips into "why do you always choose to fall for people for the wrong reasons?" and "what do you REALLY want to do with your life?". And the snarky little tough-guy cupid is a lot of fun too, though he's apparently bound by contract not to be as explicit with his advice as he could have been. [He does go pretty far with his warnings, but our young lovelorn photographer blithely ignores that.]
The quips, the characters, the be-careful-what-you-wish-fors - lots to enjoy in this one! And I can't help thinking it'd make a really charming film in the right hands...
[Update: I left this book on a chair in the entrance of Robert's Maine Grill in Kittery ME after a lovely lunch; I'm so glad that it was found and journaled. Hope you enjoy it!]

It was so fun finding this book! I was leaving a restaurant and it was resting on a red chair, so I almost didn’t notice it.
