A biography/memoir about mental illness. Looks quite good.
My thoughts: I read this in four sittings. It would have been three, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open after a long shift so the last 20 pages had to wait a day. Cahalan's experience as a journalist makes for a concise, fast read with enough research to be informative but not so much that it bogs down the personal story. The book is written as part memoir, part medical mystery, with the reader not finding out Cahalan's diagnosis until fairly deep into the book. Is she mentally ill or is there a non-psychological explanation for her bizarre symptoms? To say in this review would be to give it away, of course. Suffice to say I found the book fascinating and strongly recommend it.
