This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and every once in a while they even write home to say what they've been doing.

This book was my 2016 North Dakota read, and I quite enjoyed it.
Up near the Canadian border, a North Dakota man finds something very unexpected buried on his farm: a yacht! And, as it turns out, not just any yacht, but one that might be 10,000 years old.
Of course, people tend to be resistant to change, and the wheat field discovery threatens to bring about some very major changes...I started to get very discouraged about three-quarters of the way through, but I loved the climax of the story.
Besides the science fiction novel set in North Dakota(!) aspect, this book also features a non-white female on the front cover (not super common for SF) and she is one of the main characters. :D

I'm so glad you've found this book!
Please take a moment to make a journal entry and let this book's previous readers know that it's safe with you.
How and where did you find the book? What did you think of it? What are you going to do with it next?
It's now your book, for you to do with as you please: keep it, pass it to a friend, or maybe even leave it where someone else can find it!
If you've ever wondered where your books go after they leave your hands, join BookCrossing and you may find out: you'll be able to follow the further adventures of your books as new readers make journal entries - sometimes from surprisingly far-flung locations.
(Think of it like Where's George for books: a little like geocaching or a treasure hunt - you can follow a registered book's journey every time someone makes a new entry. Some BookCrossers even leave books *in* geocaches!)
BookCrossing: making the whole world a library!
UPDATE: found and journaled - thank you very much! Hope you enjoy the book. :)

This was my first experience with Little Free Library. A friend in Albuquerque had requested I donate a children's book as a Christmas gift to her. Finally got around to locating a LFL on the corner of 9th and Mauna Loa and placed the book inside and noticed there were several paperbacks. Picked this one up and looked at it and thought I might like it, as I used to read a lot of scifi. I am just starting it, will probably not make much progress until next week when I'm going over to Maui for a few days. Then I'll have time.
