A lovely novel to curl up with
Taken from the bookbag during it's travels.
I have never read any of Mary Reid McCall books before so I wasn't sure what I'd find. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well structured story. Quick read, satisfying.
Travelling time.
A surprise arrival. I guess you should not judge a book by its cover.
Years after being sold to the English by his enemies the MacDonells and imprisoned in London Tower, Duncan MacRae returns to Scotland to exact his revenge and to reclaim what is rightfully his--the famed protective amulet, the Ealach.

The book was what the cover indicated. That picture is used for sexy romances. I read this book because I like historical settings and a touch of magic. The castles and clans were real even if the story was fictional, which would be alright if it was plausible. If you don't worry about how, you can get a thrill from all that heroic stuff and I like heroic stuff too but expect some plausibility.
