This book is a wishlist book for dolph1n as part of the Mail-a-Garden sweep. Hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy your wishlist book :)
Another brilliant story from Botswana. Mma Ramotswe is persuaded to take a holiday leaving Mma Makutsi in charge. I felt as if I was on holiday with her although it wasn't much of a holiday for her. Mma Makutsi was, at first, her usual annoying self but my opinion on her changed later in the story. My only criticism is that I felt that the ending was a bit abrupt.
I had this reserved for a friend but as it is on the wishlist of my NSSEB partner it has been diverted.
Thank you for this wishlist book found in my NSSEBS. I will try to remember to pass it on to Jalna when I've read it.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did earlier novels in the series. Maybe the author is running out of steam and has taken this set of characters far enough. I understand there are more novels though. I keep wondering if the children adopted by Precious will have a bigger role in the series at some point.
Mailed to another bookcrosser.
I seem to be very much on Tanamo's wavelength with this one. I found it very slow going at the start and thought "I am not really enjoying this" but I continued reading and the pace did pick up and I started liking it more. I, too, would love to know more about Motholele and Puso.
I also agree with Dolph1n about a change in attitude to Grace Makutsi. But do we want this? And yes, the ending was very weak. I don't really know why AMS thought it necessary to re-introduce Samuel if he wasn't going to give full weight to the story. It was rushed and very unsatisfactory.
Still looking forward to more of Mma Ramotswe's doings, though!
