This is one of the Elvis Cole PI series. The story of a missing 13th century Japanese manuscript and a damaged family is a good yarn.
posted to tehuti as the start of a ray.
Received from groovywench today. This is a new author for me, so I'm looking forward to striking up an acquaintance.
This was a good read, with some tense moments. I thought though that the end was not completely credible, which made me drop the rating down by a star. The book is now continuing its travels to kleptokitty.
Thrilled to receive this today, as I'd forgotton I'd signed up for it before Krys PMed me for my address!
I've only read one Robert Crais book so far, but loved it & have a few lined up for the summer. I'll do my best to read this one before I go & offer it back up on the UKBC group.

I was really looking forward to this as I loved the last Elvis Cole book I read. However, it didn't grab me in the same way. Like Tehuti, I think the ending let it down a little.
However, it was still a good read and I won't allow it to stop me seeking out more.
Update 12.9.04 - Passed onto -ma- in France.

Thank you Kleptokitty to make me discover this book.
I think I would read others stories from Robert Crais.
