You have to feel sorry for Rory Stewart, walking across Afghanistan is probably challenging enough withough having dysentry for most of the time. The book is interesting and offers some insights into the local cultures of the people in various parts of Afghanistan. I felt he could have shown more interest in the landscape and he could have had more of a goal than just getting to the other end of the country. On the other hand, the dysentry probably didn't help there....
