The mother Grace is living in New York when her daughter Ellen, who is a successful interior designer in London, catches a plane to fly to New York to visit her mother. It was a rough trip as Hurricane Ophelia is bearing down on New York. Grace lives in a lovely apartment in the lower part of the city and won't move when she hears about the hurricane, so she and Ellen are almost marooned when rescued by the police. The two women go to a shelter with scores of other people until rescued by a friend who lives on the higher part of the city. Life begins for them and their lives change. Easy read.
