Winter Stroll (Winter Street)

I found this story a little confusing. As everyone had ex-spouses and new girl or boyfriends and had adult children by different spouses. It takes place on Nantucket during their Winter Stroll which is a tradition on the island. There is a lot of jealousy, passion, drinking, and even some drug use. One of the brothers is in prison for insider trading, and one son has been kidnapped and being held by a terrorist group in the middle east. This Quinn family could use a Christmas miracle to get them through the rest of the year. A decent read.
Released to deberco as her choice out of bookstogive's virtual literature book box.

This book was waiting for me when I returned home from my cruise. Thanks for sending.
This book is the second in a trilogy. I haven't read the other books in this trilogy but I would like to read them. This book can be read without having read the first book. An enjoyable read.
Reserving for the General Literature VBB.

Chose from VBB. Sent to freezone in MA.
Received from VBB. Thank you! I live within 75 - 100 miles of Nantucket, have read about its history, but have never been there! A little more armchair travel....
On the back cover, I see that Booklist called this "addictively readable" from "a master of domestic fiction" and that is all true. I wanted a fun and involving story that was easy to fall into and fun to read; and that's just what this is.
If you're in the mood for a bunch of intriguing, likeable, imperfect characters, you'll find them here. I will say that the Christmas setting didn't seem to matter much, in my opinion. Maybe just in the way that it brings everyone together as a family and in a place where they know everyone and everyone knows them, which adds to the drama of the plot.
I recommend this if you want to step away from real life and meddle in the lives of a few attractive, well-heeled, likable fictional characters.

I've read a bunch of Elin Hilderbrand books, including all the winter ones surrounding the Quinn family. Wanted to read them because my last name is now Quinn. What was fun about this book was finding the Bookcrossing label inside, showing it originated in Pearland, Texas. I grew up in Friendswood, TX, the very next town over. Small world.
