This was my coffee-break read at work, so it took me a few weeks to work my way through this one. There were just not many moments where I thought: I can't put this book down! I really liked the opening scene set at a christening party, with gin and orange juice and all the little glimpses into different characters. But once the plot really got going, jumping from time to time and person to person, I found it hard to stay interested.

It's the kind of book I would understand someone liking, but I just didn't care for it myself.

I love her writing, but the ending was a little disappointing. There are some passages in this book that will stay with me forever.
