As it felt like I'd only been reading books for work and rings and rays which had rolled in, however enjoyable they all are, I decided I needed to pick up a book for pure enjoyment.
I hadn't read a Hawkins in a while, and had the impression it was a bit light-weight.
This may have just been good timing, but I enjoyed this one a lot, appreciated the sparring between hero and heroine, and especially the heroine's integrity. By that I mean that she did not seem to be scheming, plotting, or devising strategies - she was naturally competitive and went for it, and reacted with honesty to the various events. Now I'll have to look out for the next in the series.
