CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Added to the manga and graphic novel book box.
I'm claiming this and two other "Crossing Midnight" books from the Manga and Graphic Novel bookbox (bookbox journal here). Looks entertaining!
Later: Suspenseful and unnerving conclusion to the three-volume story, with an increasingly-desperate Kai trying to rescue his twin Toshi from the service of the lord of knives. There's a war among some factions of yokai, it seems, with great power in play; can he find allies strong enough to tip the balance? And if Toshi does regain her memory, will it be too painful to bear?
The "Lady Boss" and her minions are my favorite characters here, but there are so many others that have their moments; quite an achievement in this relatively short series!
[There's a short TV Tropes page on the comic, with some entertaining tidbits.]
