Of course the biggest revelation about this book was that Carrie Fisher had an affair with Harrison Ford while filming Star Wars, and she was criticized for (1) the affair itself and (2) disclosing it forty years later. I'm not condoning sleeping with a married man, but I wonder why people are putting the blame on the 19 year old girl instead of the 33 year old man who had a wife and kid at home. As for choosing to reveal it now, she sent the manuscript to Harrison Ford before it was published and he didn't ask her to make any changes so if he's fine with it then I don't think anyone else should either (well, maybe his first wife).
I remember what it was like to be a teenager in love with someone who was non-commital and not very talkative, so I can relate to being swept away by emotions (including the massive insecurity about whether he liked her).
There were a couple of times in this book when she refers to her death (like how her autograph will be worth more after she's dead) that are all the more poignant due to her recent death.
