Th ehird (final?) installment in Robinson's series about residents of the town of Gilead, Iowa. Lila was a relatively minor character in the earlier novels, but here we learn her whole, heartbreaking story. A beautiful, harrowing story told in lapidary prose. Stands alone as a novel, but it's probably even better when read after the other books in the series: GILEAD and HOME.
