Wonders of the World - Stonehenge

A book that I recently acquired.
Like all books for younger readers that I register, this is done in memory of Becky, the daughter of a dear friend and fellow bookcrosser, ResQgeek, who was tragically killed in August 2010.
Becky's love lives in you! Live her love by sharing Becky's hugs! Visit the Becky's Hugs page at Facebook. http://www.BeckysHugs.com
Review Every bit as solid and informative as the audioguide I listened to on my recent trip to Stonehenge, but geared for a younger audience. I learned a few things through the more detailed explanations with simpler language that I had not picked up on during the audiotour as well, including that the stones used to shape the saracen stones were round, rather than wedge-shaped as I had pictured them. An interesting read and an opportunity to sample some of my friend Cathy's work.

Picked this up at a past BCinDC meetup and just found it in a bag of books I haven't yet journaled! I can't wait to read it!
I read this a few months back for a challenge prompt (a book by a local author). Considering the author is a friend and fellow local BookCrosser, it fit the bill perfectly!
I've never visited Stonehenge, but it has always fascinated me. I liked all the different aspects of Stonehenge discussed in this book--some of the myth and theories involves, but also some of the science and history and discovery made. I didn't realize it had been built and added onto in multiple stages over so many years. I also learned a lot of the vocabulary terms for the different stones. I hope to one day visit this in person!

Taking to a BCinDC meetup so it can find a new reader! Enjoy!
Making a journal entry here lets me know the book has been found and is safe in your hands. The book is yours now! Read it, give it to a friend, pass it on, or keep it forever--it's your choice.
If you pass it on to someone or leave it "in the wild" for someone else to find, please make another journal entry or release notes here to explain that it's travelling to find another home.
You can remain anonymous on the website or join BookCrossing. Joining is free, safe, and spam free and you'll get an e-mail every time a new person finds this book. You'll be able to watch it move around and find out what other readers thought of it.
I hope you enjoy the book. Happy reading!

I was so excited to see this book today on the book pile at the June BCinDC meet up. All the books I have read by Catherine M. Petrini and fellow BookCrosser, are very good, well written and researched. They are listed as books for young readers but they have a lot of good and interesting info for readers of any age.

I am releasing this book at the June 2019 BCinDC meet-up. By coincidence it is almost to a year to the day that I 1st captured this book. The Summer Solstice is at the end of this week.

Caught at the BCinDC meetup today. I read Petrini's Dragons book and it was so much fun and informative. Can't wait to dive into this one!
Later: Another informative book! So much detail and presented in a way that a younger audience would be able to easily understand (and me!).
