Wonders of the World - Stonehenge

A book that I recently acquired.
Like all books for younger readers that I register, this is done in memory of Becky, the daughter of a dear friend and fellow bookcrosser, ResQgeek, who was tragically killed in August 2010.
Becky's love lives in you! Live her love by sharing Becky's hugs! Visit the Becky's Hugs page at Facebook. http://www.BeckysHugs.com
Review: Every bit as solid and informative as the audioguide I listened to on my recent trip to Stonehenge, but geared for a younger audience. I learned a few things through the more detailed explanations with simpler language that I had not picked up on during the audiotour as well, including that the stones used to shape the saracen stones were round, rather than wedge-shaped as I had pictured them. An interesting read and an opportunity to sample some of my friend Cathy's work.

Picked up at yesterday's BCinDC meetup in Rockville, Maryland. The author is a friend of mine, so I'm looking forward to reading this.
I have had this on my shelf for years and I have finally come to the conclusion that I am simply never going to get around to reading it. So I shall pass it along.

I really hope you enjoy the book you found! When you’re done reading it, you can make another journal entry with your comments here to let me know what you thought of it. You can keep the book forever and ever or pass it on to someone else. If you’re giving it to someone directly, make another journal entry saying so. If you choose to leave it somewhere “in the wild” for anyone to catch, make release notes that indicate where you left it. If you register, you will be alerted by e-mail each time someone makes another journal entry. It’s all confidential (you’re known only by your screen name and no one is ever given your e-mail address), free, and spam-free. Then you can track this book as it goes on its journey!

Another children's book written by a member of our local BC-in-DC group! I will try to read this before I pass it along.
While clearly written for the younger reader, this book does an excellent job at providing a overview of what is know and not known about Stonehenge. Some of the information here was familiar to me, but I definitely learned a thing or two. Someday, I'll manage to visit, but until then, this helps me appreciate the place a little bit more.
