Sweet, sad, loving... Poignant. The journey of a girl and her dog... a dog and her girl and even knowing from the get-go, the tears flow. I Finished this in bed last night, and pretty much cried myself to sleep. I loved on my almost-16-year old half-Gizelle's-size puppy, and my14 year- old feline furbaby with hodgekin's lymphoma, and thought of the many 4- leggeds who have shared my life, and given me so very much.

Giselle s taught Lauren much about how to love, to open, to accept, to live. These are gifts they all bring to our lives.

I'm getting ready to get this bookbox in the mail, and as I read my original journal, the tears are flowing copiously....since then I have lost both those precious babies.....but I do smile too, as they bring us so much joy in the time they spend with us....

The writing is not good, but the love this woman and her dog share is real. I enjoyed learning about Gizelle's life and the ways Fernie used the bucket list to spend well what time she had left with Gizelle.
