Kate Atkinson is one of my favourite authors and this was the only one of her books that I hadn't read. This was her second novel after the brilliant Behind the Scenes at the Museum and I'm quite glad that I've left this till last because I think I would have been disappointed if I'd read this earlier. The author likes to play around with timeframes which she does very successfully in her later books such as Time after Time and a God in Ruins but in this novel I found it very confusing.

Given to me today by Snoopy56 when we met at a crafts sale. Thanks very much-have read one or two by this author previously so will see how I get on with this one.

REVIEW:- "I have mixed feelings about this book-on the one hand it was compelling and it "crackled along" as described by one reviewer but on the other hand I found it confusing at times as it rushed along leaving me behind to try and catch up with all the action. The time slips added to my general confusion so after around 60 pages I skimmed it a bit. I liked the very descriptive and amusing way in which the book was written as the author crams so much into each sentence and chapter but I think the general pace was just a little overwhelming for me."

I'm reserving the book for another bookcrosser. ETA Offered to the bookcrosser I had in mind but she didn't want it hence it's change of travel plans.

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.
