Following the mysterious girls Maria and Carla, we learn a battle for the substance of the world is at hand. The book exists within a time that elves living in mists accessible to the girls and few others, is at risk as an aid to our world of humans. Yet this story is not a tracing of the supernatural but of the world as it exists visible to only some of us.

Lyrically written, but the story dragged on and was confusing at times.
