Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind

I am at a virtual loss as to how to describe this remarkable book. Part history, part editorial, part sci-fi. It is so full of novel ideas that it cannot be read for hours at a time. One should ponder it chapter-by-chapter, or even page-by-page. The author's two main ideas seem to be "the Agricultural Revolution was the biggest fraud in history" and "Homo sapiens have wrecked havoc on our fellow animals and the ecosystem". First depressing and disappointing, and later, frightening, this is one good book for lovers of history, archeology, anthropology, and evolution (like me).
