I found this book to be rather amateurish and not thrilling or chilling at all. OK for a holiday read but there's better out there.
The protagonist was a bit of a wimp imo.

It's been quite some time since I was freaked out by a novel as I was with this. I can't remember reading a book about a stalker before, and I wasn't prepared for how chilling I would find it. The author's choice to place Clarissa in a jury for a sexual crime, listening to a victim being cross-examined whilst simultaneously experiencing her own sexual terror worked really well. Whilst I found Clarissa a bit irritating at times, her fear and obsession with collecting evidence seemed very real to me.

It wasn't a perfect book - more could have been said about her stalker's own background - I think Clarissa would've been aware. Her employer's perspective would likewise been interesting to read. Instead, there was too much of Robert for my taste. And bits of the ending were VERY Hollywood-esque, which I felt unnecessary. But overall a far better book than I expected. It's interesting to contrast my reading of it with that of Triggerfish. We saw things very differently it seems!
