Journal Entry 1 by stariydurak from Ekаterinburg/Екатеринбург, Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) Oblast Russia on Saturday, October 22, 2016

There was a time, we believe that will soon begin to live well.
When the problem - it is a crisis. Post-reform. This temporarily. And then all will be well. Forever.
This was our generation version of "faith in a brighter future." A quarter-century, we finally learned that "forever" is just the crisis. Problems fight on the edge of the abyss - it is a normal life. And we must not only survive, but to live, to create something, if you want to leave any trace on the earth.
Discouragement - it's all totally Ural topic. Whatever was in the court of the economic weather, the city stubbornly goes ahead. We shake our heads mockingly: unpretentious things which cause our enthusiasm about fifteen years ago. We understood: happiness of the city - not in the number of cars per family, not the number of skyscrapers. And what? We do not know. Bet. We are making moves at random.
And when it was on the other?

Wow! A book all the way from Russia, via the Big Bookring. The cover is only in Russian, so at first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to read it. Oh well, I thought, I'll just look at all the pictures. Imagine my delight when I saw half the text was in English!

Thanks so much for sending it to me! When the last Big Bookring book I sent was never journalled, I didn't think I'd get another. So this was a total surprise.

Journal Entry 4 by Brookler at Powell River, British Columbia Canada on Tuesday, January 8, 2019
This book was tricky to read because the translation feels like it was done by Google Translate, lol. Most of it was rather boring details about plans for "spacial development" in the city of Ekaterinburg in Russia, which I had never heard of. Imagine my surprise when I find that the final chapter is on literacy initiatives and includes BookCrossing. Wow!

Thanks so much for introducing me to your city. Now I have to send this little booklet off again via the Big Bookring.

Thank you for postcard with British Colombia nature - I like mountains a lot, but had visited only Carpathians in Ukraine.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

The reading didn't take even 5 minutes - I know a lot about Russian history and culture, but this journal is totaly boring. The only one that was interesting it is story about The City festival of the Books.
I will not spent money to send this book to next reader - he will not be happy to receive such journal. I will take it with me to Vilnius and I will put it into the small street library.
Maybe this journal will find somebody who will enjoy it.
