As the author of this book, I naturally rate Sentinel Event as a ten. It is the first of the Jake Stein Series of "sentinel events," such as mishaps in Healthcare organizations, that turn out to be nefarious deeds by a variety of perpetrators. This book introduces Dr. Jacob Stein, a surveyor for JCAHO, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, who remains the main protagonist throughout the entire series. For readers who prefer Mystery/Medical Thrillers, there are currently four other sentinel event books for them to enjoy.
