As If a Bird Flew By Me: A Novel
2 journalers for this copy...
I found this fair-condition ex-library softcover at a local thrift shop. It's a near-poetic novel told in alternating viewpoints and times: one, from a woman living in the modern-day midwest, and another from a woman who was among the victims of the Salem witch trials in the 17th century. The modern-day woman begins to research the trials, and the story unfolds in research documents, musings, memories, lists of facts (modern-day Celia is given to constructing such), genealogy, and more. Nostalgia, history, fear, loss, fascination... I enjoyed this!
