While the individual stories aren't exactly memorable, it is overall an enjoyable read, as the author is really good at capturing the minute emotions and pivotal moments in the lives of the characters.

Will likely bring this to the next convention, which happens to be not too far from where I picked up this book before covid happened. : )

When I picked this up, I didn't realise it is dedicated to going around the Conventions! ;-) Thank you for the book - and it was lovely to meet both of you, sumako and Azuki, face to face in Tampere.

This was the first book by Jennifer Egan for me, and I quite enjoyed it. She certainly knows how to place her characters and stories in exotic locations (China, Mexico, Bora Bora, NY Manhattan, Spain, Kenya), and many protagonists are traveling either for work or recreation. However, it is not the places that are important, it is the people. When faced with new aspects of life, they come to see their lives and relationships in a little bit different light.
