This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and every once in a while they even write home to say what they've been doing.

☻ ☻ ☻

This book is from the library of Purple58, a very special woman whom I was fortunate enough to meet through our BookCrossing group, the Table of Contents.

Fiercely independent, with a loving heart and a wicked sense of humor, she was passionate about the things she believed in and was willing to stand up and be counted when necessary. She was truly a one of a kind individual, and she will be missed by all of her many friends...who prefer to believe that she's off in Vegas, having a fabulous time and eating as many desserts as she wants.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

To be released Saturday, October 29, at the Happy Holly-Day party.

This book is released in memory of BookCrosser purple58, who wanted all of her books to find good homes after she was gone. Please feel free to read it, keep it, pass it on...whatever you wish. If you have something to say about the book, or a memory to share about Holly, please feel free to post it here: she was never shy about sharing her opinions, so she wouldn't expect any less.

I'm so glad you've found this book!

Please take a moment to make a journal entry and let the book's previous readers know that it's safe with you.

How and where did you find the book? What did you think of it? What are you going to do with it next?

It's now your book, for you to do with as you please: keep it, pass it to a friend, or maybe even leave it where someone else can find it!

If you've ever wondered where your books go after they leave your hands, join BookCrossing and you may find out: you'll be able to follow the further adventures of your books as new readers make journal entries - sometimes from surprisingly far-flung locations.

(Think of it like Where's George for books: a little like geocaching or a treasure hunt - you can follow a registered book's journey every time someone makes a new entry. Some BookCrossers even leave books *in* geocaches!)

This book followed me home from purple58's wonderful send-off - it was a terrific party and I think she would have been very pleased with it.

This book will be heading out soon in honor of a special woman who, like many BookCrossers, had a very impressive number of books. It's too bad she didn't journal more of them, because when she did, she always had something interesting to say.

Journal photo shows some of her many books - quite a few were taken by party guests, and now I'm finding ways to share the rest. (Larger photo here - after following link, click on image to zoom.)

Arrived earlier this afternoon (Saturday, 2 November 2019...how IS it possible that November is here already? : / ), and with several busy weeks filled with many appointments coming up, I'm looking forward to enjoying this book filled with what looks at first glance to be quick little reads, and seeing what good laugh or two it may bring in between it all...THANK YOU for sending it, booklady331!!! ; )

From Amazon...

Trivia fans who find themselves with a little free time can ponder these questions (and more):
Why is the sky blue?

Why is a left-handed pitcher known as a southpaw?

When did it first become offensive to extend the middle finger?

Why are diamonds measured in carats?

What makes stainless steel stainless?

Why does a Mexican jumping bean jump?

What is a best boy, a key grip, and a gaffer?

"Thoughts for the Throne" includes over 200 explanations of the answers to the not-so-important questions in life. Chock-full of fascinating trivia facts and anecdotes, this entertaining book deserves a place in every bathroom.

One of two RABCK TBR's I have in mind to read as part of Plum-crazy's THE WHAT TO READ THEME FOR MAY 2023 https://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/6/587776 so they can then continue their Journey. THANK YOU AGAIN, booklady331!!!❤❌⭕

Update: 6 May 2023...

While I can not speak for those before me, I do not read while on the throne, so this book did not visit my throne room😊, although...as evident by my own bookmark in place in between a variety of Calendar pages I know to have been placed by booklady331🤗 (it is a funny cover, and was a good pick me up/put me down book😉) that will remain where they are, somewhere along the line, I find that I had read through the first half of this interesting fact-filled little book, so finishing the second half went rather quickly and I am reserving it as a RABCK for an Oppem's Birthday Group Participant I believe may enjoy it. Its genre is listed as humor, and while it certainoy does contain some funny stories, it's really more of an entertaining collection of interesting information I very much appreciated having an opportunity to read.
