Yesterday, at the end of a long walk, I discovered the bookswap shelf at Kew Gardens tube station (outside the ticket barriers, which is nice). Had to pick this up as a memento - and also because having an unread Agatha Christie mystery is always nice. :)
Apart from some terrible racist remarks made by a drunk character at the beginning of the book and some instants of what I can only read as anti-semitism on the part of Poirot himself, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read (and could very well have done without those moments). I must have seen the film adaptation ages ago, because I seemed to remember Lord Edgware's daughter, but couldn't recall much of the plot - and so didn't spoil the read for myself. Great little reveals throughout the story, and all in all very cleverly constructed.
Sent to Marita. Enjoy! :)
