Crowner's Quest

Came in as a donation to our church bookstall, at the King's Way Church, Ossett, West Yorkshire. I just had to grab it!
Just reread this one recently. I love this series and have started to slowly work my way through them in more or less chronological order.
These books are all set in medieval Devon and sometimes straying into Cornwall. I spent the first five years of my life in Bideford, Exeter and Brixham. If you look at the map in the front of the book you will see where my great aunt used to live, just along from the gallows.

Released 3 yrs ago (7/31/2020 UTC) at Ossett, West Yorkshire United Kingdom
CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
One of several books I've been thinking of sending you for ages now. Read it or pass it on. it's up to you.
What a lovely and welcome surprise along with its friends. I'm not sure that I would ever have picked it up myself but will certainly give it a go. Thanks for sharing.
This is the third book in this series but the first that I've actually read. Who committed the murders isn't much of a mystery but I'm a sucker for a historical yarn and this is a period of British history that I know virtually nothing about. I found this well paced, de Wolfe an interesting character. Knight has obviously done his homework but doesn't overdo it and I will certainly be looking out for more of the author's books.
Going out as a sort of Brucie Bonus. I hope that you haven't already read it. Enjoy!
Received in the post today from 4evagreen as a surprise RABCK. Also in the parcel were August is a Wicked Month and The Citadel. Thanks very much. I don't think I've read a/an? historical novel recently so this will make a nice change.
REVIEW:-"I had two attempts at reading this book but all the gory details of the man hanging right at the beginning didn't appeal to me at all and put me off reading the remainder of the story. However I do appreciate it being sent to me and will re-release it asap.
This book will be given to my sister-in-law to pass on to her son.

Welcome to bookcrossing -you have found a travelling book. Please make a journal entry now to say where you found the book in case it has been moved. Then, when you have read it, please come back and make a further entry saying whether or not you enjoyed the book and why. It is now yours to do as you like with it, pass it to a friend or just leave it somewhere different for someone else to find and help it with its' journey. Of course if you can't bear to part with it at the moment then keep it, but please let me know that you have found it. If you join bookcrossing, which is free and spam-free, you can follow the book on its' travels as you will get an email each time it changes hands, but if you prefer to remain anonymous, that's fine too. Please also say what you intend to do with the book next. Thanks for coming onto the site to let me know you have found the book.
I already have books travelling in many countries around the world-a list can be found on my bookcrossing profile.
When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

Journal Entry 10 by AnonymousFinder at Stanley, East Falkland Island Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) on Sunday, October 15, 2023
Given to me by my Aunt for my time in the falklands. Not my cup of tea with all the historical info/context, but left in the Oasis cafe in Mount Pleasant Complex/Airfield (not Stanley, but no option for MPC/MPA)
