Retrieved a couple of weeks ago for ETMadrid.

It had been purchased from the church bookshelf, and one of my customers tracked it down for me and bought it back!

Thank you Deltic. Wonderful of you to send this to me. I will read and also share with fellow organisers of the Mayflower anniversary events (400 years in 2020, and the lead-up).

I finished this in the middle of the night last night as I couldn’t sleep. It has been a much more interesting read than I was expecting. It was great to read where the idea came from to build a second Mayflower and get an understanding of the challenges involved, and how the politics of the day so nearly put pay to the project. The on board journal was also interesting.

I read that there is a new journal with sketches coming out written by another of the crew.

I will be sharing this book. Interestingly when I was reading it at my parents’ in the West Country my mum said she remembers going with her dad to Plymouth Harbour to watch its departure. She says she has a photo somewhere.

Thank you so much for (retrieving and) sending me this.
