I had you in mind when I saw this planning to read it myself, but never got round to it. Hope it's your cup of tea if not just send it travelling of course. Happy Christmas.

Thank you very much, Deltic. I've not read this, in fact I don't think I've read anything by this author, but it looks to be my sort of thing so I'll willingly give it a go, thanks!
It was good to see you and MrsD this afternoon. Let's hope it's not so long till we do it again!
And a Very Happy Christmas to you too :-)

I'm afraid I couldn't get interested in Ms Harper's version of Elizabethan England and gave up.
I'm sorry, Deltic, I don't like rejecting a gift, but there's something awkward about the writing style somehow . . . .

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this on the shelves of the well-stocked Roecliffe red telephone box book exchange/community library this afternoon - bringing a couple of books home instead, of course!

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 over twelve million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!

Journal Entry 6 by Buffylou at Hamburg, New York USA on Monday, December 6, 2021
The description on the back of the book sounded really interesting. It did not disappoint me. It was a book I could put down and come back to later, even a week later, and once again become involved in the story. So many reviews made it sound dreary and dull or just quite boring and not worth reading. I found it to be a really interesting story of Elizabeth, the last Tudor, set in the 1560s in an England besieged by smallpox, other diseases, pestilence, and treasonous conspiracies. Not even royalty is untouched by smallpox.
