This has been on my wish lists or years and comes highly recommended, so I'm really looking forward to reading this. Plan to read and release.

This has the makings of such an interesting story. But the author ruined it for me by constantly going off on philosophical tangents at odds to the story. Some of them are very interesting and thought provoking but they do nothing to move the narrative along. This book feels like he felt this was his one shot ever to write a book. So he felt he had to throw every idea he’d ever had at it. He could have easily written 3 different books out of the material in this one. I suppose I am glad I read it because there were many fascinating cultural snippets and some great characters. It was just too much and it clashed. There is a sequel but I’m not sure I want to go there as this mostly felt like punishment reading.
