Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined.
Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire.

An okay read, but I won't be hunting for the next book and I removed the next two in the series from my wishlist.
Flat characters and the vampire Cade was too, 'Oh, poor me'. He won't touch human blood; even if it is supplied in a bag, despite the consequences of not being as strong and as capable as he could be to carry out his duties. Some ordinary people need regular blood transfusions, so why couldn't Cade be logical and see it this way. Nope! It was about then I decided I couldn't be bothered to seek the next in the series.
Talking logic, Zach is beaten up over some time, mauled by a dog, beaten again...
It's a miracle he is still alive; let alone conscious, but he is able to get up and go and assist Cade. Oh sure!!! Not likely!!!
I was puzzled by the end though. Did Cade finally drink human blood?
