CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

VOODOO RIVER has already arrived at its next destination. Woohoo what terrific tale telling, gripped, gripped, gripped the blooming book till done. Any other task - abandoned!

It seems I forgot to make my online notes at the time of posting so here at last I’m giving this a ‘controlled release’ Journal Entry plus review! Ta da! Many thanks Cassandra2020 this travelling book is now in Somerset!

Hired to find out just who Jodi Taylor’s birth parents were Elvis leaves his native Los Angeles to head nearly two thousand miles east to rural Ville Platte north of Baton Rouge in Louisiana. Lucy Chenier the arrestingly attractive local attorney his client hired is his first and an entirely pleasing contact but from that point the characters he encounters are an entirely uncertain selection; the ex-nurse with a crazed hatred for bugs, a local foul-mouthed PI with notably red hair who ostentatiously drives a sports car [both surely un-chancy accoutrements for the world of surveillance], and a slow-witted Cajun man-mountain who doesn’t feel pain and is the muscle for a local Mr Nasty. The wildlife also seems a more than a little testy, mosquitoes who are out for blood in droves and a huge, scary, ancient snapping turtle who moves much faster than expected and has an alarming foot-wide mouth.

Voodoo River trots along gathering momentum till things turn decidedly darker. By which time its clear Mr Nasty has fatal plans lined up for all who oppose him and is eager to accommodate Elvis into these. Luckily Cole has his trusted friend Pike on hand, the best slack man in the business. Smashing entertainment!

Received 15-1-18. This is an author that we have both read some of in the last few years so you may even get two readers on this one, but meantime it is going on Mr Flutterbies9 tbr pile.

Journal Entry 9 by Flutterbies9 at Meare, Somerset United Kingdom on Sunday, November 1, 2020
Oops, we have found that we have two copies of this book (obviously more than time we had a check over of both our tbr piles, but it is such a daunting task even with all this Covid lockdown situations), so this is being made available though it has not yet been read by us - we really do not require a book each, one between us is fine. Ooops, sorry!

Journal Entry 16 by Apechild at Tollerton, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, February 27, 2023
I did a nice walk today in a circular route through 3 villages in North Yorkshire - Tollerton - Youlton - Alne. The Alne bookswap library in the phonebox seems to have become derelict, but the phonebox bookswap library in Tollerton is going strong and this little book was in there - although a completely different cover to the one I'm seeing on here. I didn't take the book but I saw it was a bookcrossing book so I thought it would be fun for folks to know where it is at the moment!

Released 1 yr ago (2/27/2023 UTC) at Red Telephone Box Book Exchange in Tollerton, North Yorkshire United Kingdom

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I never actually took the book from the book exchange library but I thought I'd put release notes here so it shows up if anyone goes hunting =)
