The stories gave some extra depth to the Phryne on the tv series and if I'm being totally honest, the world of the books seemed even more interesting than the one on small screen. The Phryne of the books seemed at least a decade younger from her on-screen version, but altogether just as mature and deliberative! Though I greatly enjoy the detailed set on screen, the book's vocabulary on the flapper era made the era even more interesting and genuine.
The three stories were a great quick read with extra characters and a steady pace on the plot. Entertaining and light, what else could you wish for? For some reason the Murder on the Ballarat Train felt awfully familiar! Either some other book has had a very similar plot or I've read the book earlier...
