I found this good-condition hardcover at a local thrift shop. It's by a man whose crossword puzzles have been syndicated worldwide, and contains his personal background with crosswords, some history of them, and some insight into creating and solving them. (He does focus on US-style crosswords, which I'm pretty good at; the more esoteric ones such as those in the London Times, which feature wildly cryptic clues that are puzzles in themselves, aren't touched on much here. I'm hopeless at the latter kind, though I enjoy learning how the clues are meant to be interpreted.)
