A wonderful poetic start in a magic language casting spell upon spell on the reader ... but then, as it turns out, a rather shallow story with a hollywood ending and an apallingly cliché moral. Something like "there is no earthly paradise to find somewhere -- except what we can make back there, in the soot in the rubble in the crisped-away flesh ...". (Almost literal citation/paraphrase).
Makes your hair stand on end.
Anyway, I hope someone out there likes it and is going to write a nice commentary.
