A woman is killed during a visit to buy cigarettes from her neighborhood bodega and wakes up to learn that people who die within a five block radius from her apartment building return as ghosts in an alternate existence with the ability to return two days a year to the real world. She must adjust to this new "life" and figure out why this is happening in just this geographical area. Fun sort of Twilight Zone story, with sometimes oddly clunky notes. I had to check Wikipedia for the author's age when one character calls another to say, "I just sent you a URL, can you look at this website?" Link, Boo, it's called a link. Though I do like how the author deals with characters speaking in Spanish by just saying they are speaking Spanish and enclosing English text within arrows ("<>") instead of doing a faulty translation.
