A new series by a favorite author. While this was an ok read, it doesn't compare, at least to me, to my favorite Teashop mystery series.

Adding to the "C" Authors Bookring............happy travels, little book!

Journal Entry 3 by Dove-i-Libri at Fort Myers, Florida USA on Saturday, June 11, 2016
Rec'd this book as part of Iwillrejoice's ABC Authors Book Rings - US version - Letter C (Link). I'll actually be taking both books that arrived and replacing them with two others!

May 23, 2017: In the mood for a cozy, light read, and this seems like it will fit the bill perfectly.

May 26, 2017: Finished, and just as I thought, a quick fun read to fill a couple of evenings! There was quite bit of extraneous description and dialogue that made it seem like a writing class exercise, but otherwise an easy read.

Offered as a RABCK at The (Not-So-) Random Acts of BookCrossing Kindness Forum (Link)

Here is some information from Barnes and Noble . com to help you decide if you'd like to claim this book:

"... The New York Times bestselling author of Gilt Trip returns to New Orleans for scrap-booking, Halloween, and homicide …

Scrapbook shop owner Carmela Bertrand is ready to head out and enjoy her night until she hears some strange noises coming from Oddities, the neighboring antiques shop, and decides to investigate. Her evening plans are abruptly put on hold when out of a curio cabinet—and into her arms—falls the bloody body of Oddities owner Marcus Joubert.

While Joubert was known for being an eccentric, Carmela never thought he could inspire the passion required to kill—until she learns a priceless death mask was also stolen. As the mystery grows, so does the list of suspects, leaving Carmela with the feeling that it will take every trick in the book to unmask the killer thief before there’s another night of murderous mischief.

Received from Dove-i-libri as a RABCK. I enjoy cozy mysteries but I have never read the works of this author. Excited to be introduced to her work.

It was a fun read, with a lot of local color, but a bit slow moving at times.

Arrived to Finland safe and sound. I do like the Teashop mystery -series and hope this would be equally good.
