"A fascinating full-length portrait of a great woman who was also a great ruler in turbulent times."
"This book gets nearer to penetrating the secret of the most remarkable woman in history than anyone has ever done... a portrait that is unforgettable and very touching... Quite the most perceptive book about Elizabeth I that I have ever read." (A.L.Rowse)

Thanks so much! Looks very interesting.
A bit slow in places, this was an interesting portrayal of the personality as well as the political impart of a most unusual monarch. I knew little to nothing of "the virgin queen", and the author clearly shows a pro-Elizabeth bias, but it's obvious she was a remarkable woman at a time when women had few rights and little recognition. Thanks, I enjoyed this!
