I picked the book up from a memorial to people who stood out aganist the clearances on the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides whiile I was in holiday.
When I returned I read the book - it was most absorbing. I have been meaning to read some of Rankin's work for some time. I then released the book at the fish ladder and dam in Pitlochry, Scotland
