Cannery Row

I read this book when I was living in Monterey, California--all I can say is, it's changed a lot since the days when Steinbeck was in the neighborhood. This is an entertaining, vivid look at the Cannery Row of his time. It's much more light-hearted, if memory serves, than his more intense novels like Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden or Of Mice and Men.

I read this ages ago and forgot to journal it. Steinbeck never disappoints. His stories are so wonderfully descriptive and character driven.
