The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel
5 journalers for this copy...
Copy in excellent condition. Picked at a LFL on Arlington Road, in either Berkeley or Kensington (hard to tell where one ends and the other commences!).
Post-reading, summer 2020: So, so enjoyable. Horowitz books never let me down and this Sherlock Holmes story was no exception. I wish there were more!

I read this book back in May. And now it seems I've lost it. Did I release it? I'm not sure. :/
Decent read. Enjoyed it.
Later: Found it! Yay!

I'm planning to offer this to this to a friend who sometimes likes this sort of thing.
I'm planning to offer this to this to a friend who sometimes likes this sort of thing.
As Sherlock Holmes pastiches go, this isn't that bad, definitely readable, but somehow it just doesn't have the Watson/Conan Doyle spark. In spite of the fact that the Victorian background is well-researched. Also, some passages are a bit depressing. Not a keeper. Returning it to the bookcrosser friend who thought I might like it; she will no doubt send it on its merry way.
For the New Victorian bookbox.
One of my selections from the Victorian Book Box...I'm on a bit of a Sherlock Holmes bender lately, and this fits that model.
