The Prayer Box (A Carolina Heirlooms Novel)

Another book that I never intended to keep so long (too many books, not enough time to read). I pulled this book from my shelf because it is on Heartthumper's wishlist and I was trying to decide whether to read it now or send it on without reading it. On page 1, this book starts out "When trouble blows in, my mind always reaches for a single perfect day in Rodanthe." The second paragraph starts with "Years later, after the place was repaired, a production company filmed a movie there. A love story." Well, I was hooked because I read Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks within the last month-what a coincidence!
This was my first book by Lisa Wingate and it definitely won't be the last. At times, I thought she was long winded and I wanted to say "hurry up and get on with the story." But what a wonderful story she tells about how prayer can change your life without preaching. Two of my favorite quotes: the first from page 175 "I couldn't imagine her kind of life-the in which there was an underground river, the water of grace beneath even the most horrible events." and the other from the final page, 369 "No words can encompass the miracles of God."
